Purge the Cancer

Each member of the Iuka Gospel Assembly Church has the right to know what is happening in their church. They have the right to know if their pastor is guilty of sexual misconduct and the right to know about the finances of the church. They have the right to know if their money has been paid to sexual abuse victims.

Zolon Zeh has refused to offer an explanation for his actions; therefore, he should immediately resign his pastorate and apologize to the church. The trustees should allow him no access whatsoever to church property or assets. He should not be allowed “retired pastor” status and should not be allowed to continue to live on church property and drive church vehicles. The trustees should immediately make a complete and full financial disclosure to the church membership. If anyone has acted improperly, they should be held accountable. Allowing Zolon Zeh to continue as if nothing has happened is an insult to God and the church.

God is judging Zolon Zeh just as he judged Tom Jolly. Tom Jolly claimed that he was accountable only to God and not to the people. Tom Jolly was wrong. He was accountable to God and the people. And God saw to it that his punishment was great. To whom much is given, much is required.

Zolon Zeh, meet God! You can hide no longer! The longer you attempt to cover-up your perverted ways, the greater your punishment. You are not being persecutedfor righteousness' sake; you are simply reaping what you have sown. And just like Tom Jolly, your actions will follow you to your grave. The acorn does not fall far from the tree.

There is a cancerous wound in the Iuka church and it is in serious need of healing. But this healing cannot begin until the source of the problem is removed. Zolon Zeh should be removed from the church. The damage that he has caused is too great for him to remain. He has hurt too many good people. He has abused too many good people. He must go. Jesus sacrificed himself for the church. Will Zolon Zeh sacrifice himself for the church or will he ask the church to sacrifice itself for him and his immoral ways? An honorable man will acknowledge that he is the source of the problem and will leave. A coward will stay and prevent the wound to heal.

The trustees have a choice. Purge the cancer and begin the healing process or ignore it and allow the church to die a slow and painful death. This problem will not go away.
